GREEN HOME

The design of this 4-bedroom 2,800 sf custom home in Silverthorne, Colorado is based on an open floor plan. Kitchen, Dining Rm and Great Rm all face west towards the spectacular mountain views. With the kids' rooms downstairs, the master bedroom upstairs and stacked bathrooms, the floor plan is not only functional, but was fairly simple to build.

This custom home also features green home building methods and materials. Preservation of the natural characteristics of the site, including the steep slope and wetlands, were of the highest priority. Wood waste was carefully separated and recycled for a pilot composting project. Interior materials and finishes were chosen based on their sustainability and durability.
